  • Dog camp is a structured pack walk where your dog will play, socialize, and practice general manners and obedience in a safe outdoor setting with a variety of other well-behaved dogs.

  • We have been granted permission to walk on private land in a surrounding town. For Landowner privacy we will not disclose our location publicly. We walk in tall grass, fields, and wooded areas and swim in multiple ponds and brooks.

  • Each pack will be constructed daily based on the temperament and ability of the dogs. Hence the number of dogs may change each day.

  • Here at Mainely Hounds LLC, we take safety very seriously. Packs will be constructed based on size, age, temperament and ability etc. This allows pups to have the best time together and ensures a great and safe experience for all!

  • We are Pet First Aid and CPR Certified and carry a first aid kit with us. If the injury is minor it will be treated on the trail accordingly. If the injury is severe our Pack Leaders priority is to get ALL the pups back to the car safely and the injured pup to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic. Owner will be notified as soon as safely possible to do so. A Veterinary release form is signed by all pet parents in case of such emergency so as not to delay care for your best friend. Rest assured, this would be rare due to all the safety precautions put in place. However, we do ask you to remember that we are in “the wild”. We may come across porcupines, skunks, turkeys etc. Dogs run and play and chase and swim. Branches and sticks can be pointy and minor scapes and cuts can be a normal part of this type of adventure.

Whether or not you need training at your home, on a walk, or in a public place we meet you and your dog where they are and with what they need.

Boarding

We aren’t your average boarding kennel! Here at Mainely Hounds LLC we offer a different kind of boarding in a warm and cozy home environment. Your dogs training will continue while they are in our care. No free for all barking and chaos here. How they live at home is how they will stay here (only better!). We want your pup to feel right at home. We will work on regulating our emotions using the place cot or crate as needed as well as receive daily exercise and one on one attention. We are trained to give medication if needed as well. You will also receive daily “Pupdates” with pictures throughout their stay. The only concern you will have is if your pup is having more fun than you. Seriously!

Meet & greet and trial day is required for ALL services!

The meet and greet is conducted in your home and is required prior to signing up for training services, joining dog camp, or requesting boarding services. A meet & greet is an initial assessment of your dog’s individual play style, personality, behavioral concerns and suitability for our group or services. It is also a chance to make sure we are a good fit for you. While we strongly believe there is no such thing as a bad dog, not every dog is suited for our environment or training services. We take our guests’ safety and happiness very seriously.

After the Meet & Greet, a client portal

is created for you and proof of vaccinations must be uploaded. A Trial Day is then scheduled so we can observe and perfectly suit your pup’s fitness and social lifestyle for the best experience possible. The Trial Day allows us to observe how your dog reacts away from Mom and Dad, identify any sensitivities they may have, and assess their comfort level with us. It is normal for pups to be nervous at first, but if for some reason your dog is not ready for all of these steps, we will work together to address any concerns.
